I'm extremely excited for Julian Casablancas new album to come out on the 3rd! If you don't know he is the lead singer of The Strokes and while they were on their musical hiatus he decided to write an album. From what I've heard so far it is very 80's driven and I LIKE THAT! Besides the artwork for it is awesome. Here are some promos:

If you're going to check out anybody check out Mayer Hawthorne. He is this white boy from Ann Arbor who was a DJ for 12 years and then started writing soul, influenced by music his dad used to play in the car when he was a kid. He sounds like he could be Curtis Mayfields love child and I'm pretty jealous of his whole album "A Strange Arrangement" .

of course! I used it yesterday when I didn't have my ipod in the car. It's so nice not knowing what's on there.
i need more for hanging in my apartment and entertaining all of my important guests! there's always interesting reactions to each song. katie said it sounded like i was listening to outerspace music yesterday ha!

it was an instrumental spacey song off of the cd i got on itunes not too long back, "psychedelic guide to monsterism island". i think garrett said it was weird once too. it's got strange voices and sounds. i dig it!
